Hello again! I’m back another Sunday on my blog. Nancy who?! Yes! Who is this Nancy person and what is her background? Well, let me officially introduce myself.

I am 26 years old and have lived my whole life on the east side of the Netherlands. Specifically Enschede. Currently, I am the photographer and retoucher for Elise Store.

At a very early age, most people thought that I was very quiet on the outside. But on the inside, I was always busy in my own head which was bursting with new ideas. I knew already at a very young age that I wanted to showcase my creativity.

It came to a point in school where we had to decide what education we would follow. I wanted so badly to have a job where creativity was the main focus. Where I could finally let all the creative ideas in my head come to life. I knew I couldn’t sit behind a desk all day every day. But a career in  photography wasn’t even my idea.

My mother was the first one who advised me to do photography. Later that day, I did my first research on photography, and I was hooked. Immediately, I felt a motivation to pick up a camera and start taking pictures for myself. I applied at the ROC Van Twente and graduated in four years. I tried every type of photography, but it was clear to me working with models for fashion campaigns is what I enjoy doing the most. The best feeling is when a team can come together and bring a concept to life.

Once I built up a portfolio, I knew I had to make a career out of my passion. So I created my first photography business, Proshot.nl. During this time I was able to connect with so many wonderful people photographing weddings, engagements, events, family portraits, products for catalogues and of course fashion photography for different webshops and beauty pageants.

After almost 6 years of really hard work, I felt I needed a change in direction. With nancyderemer.com, you will quickly notice my focus has shifted to primarily the fashion industry. In a way, I am going back to my roots because it is what initially drew me into photography since day one.

Ok. Enough about me. In next week’s post, we’re going to cover a topic that I am asked a lot of questions about. How do I make better photos with my phone? Luckily, all you need is your phone! I’ll see you next week
